Victory Community Centre KL was born from a journey that began far from Kuala Lumpur. On 14 September 2002, a group of believers who had come from Calvary Charismatic Centre in Kota Kinabalu gathered together and chartered a new church in the capital. In those early days the congregation was known as Calvary Charismatic Centre Kuala Lumpur (CCCKL), making its home in a meeting room at Cititel Hotel, Mid Valley. It was a modest beginning — but the worship was real and the community was alive.
For several years Sunday services were held at Cititel. When the hotel underwent renovation, the congregation moved to the Boulevard Hotel — now St. Giles — and continued to gather faithfully. During this season the church approached Mid Valley Management under the IGB Group, hoping to secure an office lot for worship at a token sum. The request was not granted.
Undeterred, the church made a practical, faith-filled decision: to move into a rented office lot at 15-6, Boulevard Office. The hotel had become costly to maintain, and the office lot offered what the hotel could not — affordable space available to the congregation twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
By 2013, rising rentals prompted another move — to a three-storey shop lot at 16-2, Jalan 1/109E, Desa Business Park, Taman Desa, directly facing Taman Desa Hospital. It was understood to be a temporary shelter, a place to gather while the church waited for something more permanent.
The wait was not without purpose. When Faber Tower was acquired by public-listed PJD and fully renovated — brightened, modernised, fitted with elevators and full facilities — CCCKL saw the opportunity and relocated there in early 2015.
It was in this new season that the church received a new name. Calvary Charismatic Centre Kuala Lumpur was officially renamed Victory Community Centre A/G — a name carrying forward the church's identity, its affiliation, and its continuing story of faith on the move.
